Performing arts, NO?
Sometimes I would wonder whether I'm in the wrong profession. Don't get me wronged when I said this. Teaching is by far the most satisfying job that I ever enjoyed doing. Doing other things other than teaching is what I dread. Not that I hate those 'things' but I have to admit that I clearly do not like being pushed around and forced like a slave to do something that I don't like.
I remember being forced by my primary school teacher to sing all the chinese oldies in preparation for the inter school singing competition. Yes, I won almost all the competition. I'm not trying to be vain here but that was the truth- until I hit puberty and my voice cracked like a giant rock hitting the earth. If only I got a vocal trainer, I might have ended up in the showbiz(yer, sachak sa! muka ko diat, kata geng aku)
This few weeks, I've been bombarded with the different tasks that I need to carry out. Who would have thought I would be the group leader for PERFORMANCE department for the school annual excellence day. So, I had to come up with as many and different performances to fill the slots of prize giving. Believe me, it's not as easy as it sounds. Although they say, "don;t worry, you're the leader, let your member take in charge of each performance. And yes, I have delegated everyone with their own performance. It seems like everyone is as clueless as I am. "what should I do?" "Should I train them...but I don't know?" and many more excuses that can put a full stop to everything .
To be honest, so far I've only trained the choral speaking, which I enjoyed the most especially working with the 2krk students. They are the most co-operative students I've ever met in my whole life. Then, I've done with being the critique for the dance performance(so far 85% satisfying, cerik dirik pengkritik A.F lah?). The other performances are story telling and public speaking which I should worry later. Now, this last performance is something that send chill to my bones. Choir! yes, you heard it first! Choir! To be frank, I'm no Mr. Schue (Glee!) and I ain't no Sue Sylvester neither. This is something that I hate most especially when you know that there's not enough supply of talents in the vocal departments. I'm equally as untalented as these kids.Wait the minute, that would be wrong and an understatement to underestimate your students' ability. But hey, this is no Academy Fantasia. Not that I'm saying they have ugly voice. But as a normal human being with some dignity, I will not make a promise to put up a show that is merely 'suam-suam kuku' or in other word, average (so-so) Yet, I can't complain and feel anxious about this. What if they make fun of themselves? and then it'll definitely ruin my reputation. So what I'm gonna do? I'll pray to GOD harder.
Like I said earlier, maybe I've enrolled in the wrong course during my University years. Maybe I should have taken performing arts (acting, singing, dancing, music, instrumentals etc) Maybe I'm not good enough in all of that, but surely I got a pinch of those things in my blood. Somehow, I do enjoy managing a performance( not performing though). I love the adrenaline rush and the satisfaction after putting a show, or getting whatever feedback of the performance.Somehow, it helps me to learn and to improve in the future. Now, this sounds very promising as I myself don't even know what that future holds. As long as the audience enjoy the show, the whole effort is paid off.
So into these final few days, I hope I get enough sleep and energy to perfect all those performances and give a kickass! performance. =) wish me luck!

Ignorance is bliss
contrary to the title, i think ignornance is a selfish act especially when the act is done to the others. There's a time when I don;t get response from letter, e-mails or even smses from people I know and it makes you feel, is it really difficult to type Yes, No, Hi, I'm fine, Thank you...or even I hate you? It takes just a few seconds/minutes to cheer up someone's life. Why must we feel burdened by not getting the answer that we one? Or is it that our heart is playing its most favourite game: emotion?
A time will come when loneliness strikes and you feel that even your most expensive gadget could not get you connected to other people. It makes you a 'frog under the coconut shell?" (haha)
So, spare some times to say Hi to your loved ones. It will make that much difference in their life and your life. =)

KOMPIDEN sik awak ckp omputeh?
THIS IS A UNION JACK TOILET SEAT! REPEAT AFTER ME! DO NOT SH*T ON IT!yarrrrrrrrrh, alu terbeliak matanya tek baca blog aku pake bahasa srwk! saya pun terbeliak nangga reaksi muka awak.. apa awak ingat ninek sy omputehkah?(reaksi ku beri stiap kali plajar aku terkejut Sir nya tok blh klakar srwk, apa gik mun klakar slang Spaoh, ne poh eh?guling2 tetak miak dlm kelas )
Toklah keindahan dan keunikan bahasa yg kita mudah Alpa. Itok saya mdh awak..yer! bersaya -awak indah...coma jak dianuk guru dr Melaya(melayer..ko ader??sik ader(dgn jungor ke depan). Bukan apa, skali skala berblog makei bahasa srwk sedap jak bunyi..bak kata makcik kedey tek: yoah!(suka nengar munyi nerais yoh), spoke lOn- Don nya tok eh..sik kamek mudah faham. mun stakat thank you tek blh juwaklah makcik ya jwb: same same..yer..konPiden! bukan same2 lah makcik, "you're welcome".
dipendekkan crita, adalah kwn kmkorg dolok. Bercerita lah nya tek pasal maknya tauk berbahasa inggeris. Walaupun maknya org kampung, sekali sekala bgs juak maknya tok mauk instill the Use of English in their daily lives)masa ya tengahlah makan, diangkatnya sudu dan garfu lalu dimadahnya: makku pandei juak ckp inggeris. 'Tok spoon namanya..(auk2 ajaklah kmkorg tek) , nak tok SPORK namanya.( Puffffff!, tersembur nasi & air dr mulut kmkorg tatkala nya nyebut SPORK dgn confident!. "Oh,deng! Fork lah...bukan SPork" dihentam malu tek, alu merajuk kawan..sekejap jak merajuk, diembak gi kedai mamak blakang rumah alu lupaknya tek pasal incident tdk. tp nang traumalah nya nak makan makei 'garfu' lepas ya. makan pakei tgn pun jadilah.
Bukanlah aku nak memuji dirik atau menghina org yg blajar bahasa Inggeris. Biasalah, nama gik dah bahasa asing. dah namanya asing, siklah loghat n slang boleh berbunyi piyor(pure=tulen). aku pun pernah juak polah mistakes..malah lebih bnyk mistakes dr org lain. tp sekurang2nya dr sia aku blajar. sekali kita salah, seumur hidup kita ingat, jgn plak 'pisang berbuah 2 kali udahlah)
Ingat gik aku time form 2, aku wakil skolah utk speech (yer, wakil form 2 you! you ader? sik ader!) nang dah dihafal ku skrip depan cermin selama sebulan, tiap petang ku present dpn miss Vimala(cne ndak tujunya knek tok) sampey2 skolah SMK Melugu tek, tibalah giliran ku berucap, dgn confident aku buka mulut 'Good AFTERNING(morning campur afternoon)...nang satu DEWAN RIUH ketawa! aku pun berhenti sbb terkejut dgn kesilapan teknikal bodoh(in english we call it blunder=a stupid mistake) , lepas ya aku mula balik n habiskan speech aku. Dipendekkan cerita aku sik menang, tapi aku mula yakin utk berckp guna bahasa Inggeris.
Sepanjang perjalanan ini(mcm lagu Zaiton sameon jak), ada juak bnyk kali polah kesilapan dlm sebutan.cth: baked beans blh jd ba-ked beans(wrong), Grand (sebutan gren, bukan gran), yg slalu org salah sebut ialah buffet (sebut betul2...buffeyyyyyyyyy) bukan buffet. sikpa, sikda benda nak dimalu, yg penting kita belajar dan sik ulang kesilapan. Untung kita di Malaysia blh blajar banyak bahasa, malah lebih bnyk gik dr org putih yg hanya mampu faham bahasa dirik mpun. Kita patut berbangga sbg rakyat Malaysia kerana diberi peluang ini,(chewah, mcm ucapan hari Merdeka jak). sorry, blogku tok sikda unsur politik,,Mun awak mdh satu Malaysia, maka satu Malaysialah saya madah.(bila masa juak ada 2 Malaysia nak?) hish..bingung aku.
okelah..cukuplah sampey sitok ku poret blog aku guna bahasa tempatan, lepas tok, mmg SPOKE LONDON(hebat makcik ya masukkan past tense, ada SPOKE) lah aku lepas tok dlm blog aku. Melainkan mendapat sambutan hangat poretan bhasa srwk tok. chow lok!
~An Oath to Mummy~

Mummy,
If you keep me just for another day,
I promise I'll be a good child,
I'll listen to you,
and never ask for anything.
Mummy,
If you let me stay with you,
I am going to be a filial son,
and prove that I can succeed,
for you have brought me to this world.
Mummy,
If you take care of me,
I promise not to cry,
though it is not natural for babies not to cry.
Mummy,
why do you leave me
in a place like this?
of rubbish and unwanted things.
I feel sick, I can't breath,
Mummy,are you listening?
Mummy,
did i offend you
for breathing the same air with you?
what have I done to be treated like this?
Mummy,
please don't go,
turn around and look at me,
there's a better way than leaving me.
I know you still have a pinch of love.
Mummy
I saw a cat and its kitten,
how i wished i was the kitten,
to be cuddled and loved by its mother.
to feel cared and loved.
Mummy,
now that I know you will leave me,
I have only one little wish,
that I will be the last baby in the world
to be thrown away like this.
Mummy,
I will never understand why,
i will never cry again,
coz soon i'm going to say goodbye.
In my mind there's a question that runs wild ,
what if your mummy did the same to you?
~The recent cases of babies being thrown away like rubbish has opened the eyes of many. Suddenly, I felt like writing something for the babies. So, this poem is dedicated to all the unwanted babies, and a question to all the irresponsible mothers who threw away their babies like a junk. There is always a better option than throwing these innocent lives~

Pass that SALT, please?
Salty as it may sound, yet Angelina Jolie never fails to deliver a good character in any stunt movies she signed up for. From TOMB RAIDER to WANTED, she makes stunts looking zexy and effortless. Though we know there's always the stunt double to do all the stunts, Kudos to Jolie for raising the bar for any female actresses to star in an action-packed movie. Plot wise, it's predictable yet it's not as cliched as other movies.
In the past, I've written a novel that I never got to finish, entitled "V- for Vladimir". Yes, It sounds Russian and indeed it's about a Russian character. I had created a character more or less the same as SALT. A Russian Spy who was trained from her childhood to assassinate the President . The only difference is the character is more complicated, and as usual she is being haunted by her past. Similar to other movie, there's the conflict that made up the plot. I did not get to finish it since I had very little knowledge/schemata on the political, weaponry and physical setting of my story. (I wrote it during my free times in University)
Today, I feel like writing it again however I find the task rather time consuming and impossible to me. So, for those of you who doesn't have a clue what SALT is about, click the link below for a quick preview. Just look and stare at her SEXY lips and let me hypnotize you.

Blog-Ga!
It has been a year since I last blogged! Maybe it was the laziness, the mid-life crisis(am I too early to develop one) or maybe it was due to the poor internet service. Blame the technology, yada yada yada...but at the end of the day, it might not be so bad to admit that I might have lazed out or simply getting bored with blogging. It was until recently that I suddenly felt like blogging again! yeah, it was out of the blue, just like that(a finger snap!) just for the sake of keeping my account from being terminated? But now, after reading more blog entries from my friends and students. I am inspired to write again. *ting! comes the lightbulb! Ideas are mounting to great height! oh, wait! there must be a capacity and density that this blog serves. If not, it could easily be mistaken with a celebrity gossip blog or a middle age man's rants ; full of angst and frustration. So, why don't I make my blog an opposite to the latter? Maybe I could write something positive? something that will inspire first and foremost, myself, then others?
To start with, I'm going to find and evaluate my own voice... lalalalala(suara sumbang!) The hardest part will be maintaining that voice (that one theme/strength) in my blog. As usual, laughter is one of the important ingredients. And it even came out as a joke, to blog after one year of leaving it and to find that blogger.com is getting more sophisticated and interesting. So, my first attempt was to change the background. And there you have, a shelve full of books.
I'm hoping to achieve the objective of this blog: to read more and to write better materials.
